We are pleased to inform you that you have been selected as a participant in the 9th Specialization Course in International Criminal Law for Young Penalists, The Legal Status and Responsibilities of Nonstate Actors Under International Humanitarian Law, International Criminal Law and International Human Rights Law, which will take place in Siracusa, from May 24th to June 3rd, 2009. We are also glad to confirm that your request for a scholarship was accepted.

You will be accompanied by 80 highly qualified participants from more than 30 different countries, most of whom are working on advanced legal degrees and many pursuing or intending to pursue an academic career.

At the completion of the course, participants will receive a certificate and become eligible for receiving academic credits, according to their respective University’s regulations regarding equivalency credits granted by the University of Palermo.

Due the unexpected number of applications received, you are kindly requested to confirm your participation as soon as possible and to ensure your place in the program by paying the application fees (€ 100,00*) by bank transfer to the Institute’s account (see details below). As proof of the payment, we kindly ask you to fax or e-mail us your deposit slip no later than April 10th. We would be grateful if you would also notify us if you decide not to take part in the course, so as to facilitate the placement of applicants in the waiting list for attendance in the course.

After receiving your confirmation of payment, we will send you more detailed information concerning the moot court competition and the logistics on transportation from Catania Airport to Siracusa. Please note that the Institute will provide the free transfer service on arrival and departure days only (May 24th and June 3rd).

All participants will share a double room with another colleague at the Hotel Panorama, Viale Necropoli Grotticelle n. 33, tel. +39 (0)931 412188. Please, do not contact the hotel directly. ISISC will make arrangements for your stay. For any special needs, please feel free to contact us and we will in turn make arrangements with the hotel directly.

Please check in due time with the Italian Embassy regarding applying for a visa. In case you need the invitation letter required by the Embassy for the visa, we kindly ask you to provide us further details:
1. full name;
2. passport number, date and place of issue;
3. full address and contact details of the Visa Office (email and fax).

The invitation letter will be ready and sent both per fax and email within two working days.

I don't know much about those Law courses.

However, be careful. Make sure that the institution is legit -- not a "scam" because they ask you for your personal information.
